Have you ever followed instructions to the ultimate detail and still not get the results that you expected?
Well that's kind of where I'm at right now with this. I've been following along in this book, which is also available online on building a database driven site using PHP and MySQL Kevin Yank Article
Well like I said I've followed it to a "t" and when it comes to the point of creating a "connect" directory on the root folder and then dropping the index.php and output.html.php files to test the mysql connection, all I'm getting is a blank screen. So I'm kinda stuck. I'll figure it out and then see where it gets me.
I'm pretty sure I mis-typed something in the script or installed something incorrectly.
On another note, when I first installed the MAMP stack on my computer, I didn't realize that mysql was installed in this stack as well. So I was doubling up and installing mysql again separately. I realized my goof when I was noticing that none of my practice tables weren't showing up in the PHPmyadmin button on the MAMP start page. Like I said, big goof...
Current Mood: Puzzled.
